See Laputa for a really great set up and use of the "mother ship" and "parasite fighters" idea.
oh well, they were up against money and time, too, I'm sure. There was lots of great stuff for all that.
The "Squirrel!" gag was well set up and then used to resolve the planes threatSCOTT CAPLEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00383231992299446364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9077811632900798271.post-45946359044939571082009-06-26T20:18:04.995-07:002009-06-26T20:18:04.995-07:00Hi Scott!

I'm not sure what to say about the shotgun at the climax. While I think the action suits the character, a Quartermain type, I agree the gun itself came out of nowhere. If there had been reference to it earlier, then perhaps I would let it fly.
I think they should have made better use of the dogs in the planes instead. Perhaps use them to take out the balloons? I felt like they were introduced and then disposed of without furthering the plot. Then old Muntz could come busting in with his sword, and the story could proceed the same way.Nick Hendrikshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15620554246730262002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9077811632900798271.post-66519394541967920432009-06-22T09:23:25.239-07:002009-06-22T09:23:25.239-07:00Amazing images!
